Upper Chichester Library is an independent library. Our membership is valid only within our library.

With your Upper Chichester Library membership, not only do you get to check out our books, but you get so much more. Anyone is welcome to join. 

Our members have exclusive access to:

Thousands of books both fiction and non fiction, all ages and genres including large print and books on cd.

DVD Rentals ($1.00 per title for 3 days)

Exclusive access to our five internet ready computers

Lending period for books, books on cd, and cd's is 3 weeks. You can extend your time by stopping in, calling, or renew online.

Lost Library Card fee: $1.00 Overdue Books    .20/day ​Overdue Book-on CDs  .20/day Overdue DVDs    $1/day

Upper Chichester Library was founded in 2001 by two local boy scouts, George and Greg Daniels, who collected over 10,000 books and established the library in its present home today The Willowbrook Shopping Center. After 14 years of service to the Upper Chichester Community the library is still an independent, nonprofit,  public library.

Five Internet-ready, Windows 8.1 computers for patron use 

Two AWE Early Literacy Stations for children  2yrs—12 yrs. 

Extensive collection of Fiction & Nonfiction books including best sellers, new releases, Large Print Books as well as Books on CD 

Chichester School District’s Summer Reading books as well as many of the 100 book challenge books.  

New Release DVD’s $1.00/3day loan  & Music CD Collection Faxing $1/page | Printing (B & W) .25 cents/page Color Copies $1.00 | Newspapers Delivered Daily: -Delaware County Daily Times  - Philadelphia Inquirer - Wall Street Journal - New York Times (Sunday Edition Only)

Programs Include:  Children’s Story Hours, Computer Help Classes, Seminars, Historical lectures, and Author Visits | Upper Chichester Book Club (Meets Monthly)  | Wool Gatherings meets weekly on  Thursdays​​

Upper Chichester Library Mission Statement

The mission of the library is to promote and advocate literacy and learning, advanced  knowledge, provide a computer center, and enrich the lives of community residents.The general goals of the Library are: (1) To serve all residents of the community and the surrounding region,
(2) to acquire and make available to the residents of above area such books, magazines and pamphlets and other services that will address their needs for personal and professional advancement and enrichment.
(3) To maintain and improve upon a program of services which would locate information, guide reading, ​as well as organize and interpret material for people of various backgrounds and of any age; and​
​ (4) to regularly review these goals, and if necessary, modify them in light of new  developments.
